Dear Charlie Lake Elementary Students and Parents,
As the Halloween season approaches, we are excited to embrace the spirit of fun and creativity that comes with it. In order to ensure that the holiday remains enjoyable and safe for everyone, we have outlined the following expectations for students who wish to wear costumes to school on Halloween. Please take a moment to review these guidelines:
No Costumes Until After Lunch: Costumes may be worn only during the latter half of the school day. This ensures that morning academic activities proceed without distraction. We recommend students bring their costumes to school and change into them during lunchtime.
Appropriateness: All costumes should be school-appropriate. Please avoid outfits that are overly revealing, offensive, or could be interpreted as disrespectful to other cultures, races, religions, or groups.
Avoid Scary or Violent Themes: To maintain a comfortable environment for all students, especially our younger ones, please avoid costumes that are overly scary, gory, or violent.
No Face Paint or Makeup Until After Lunch: If your costume requires face paint or makeup, please apply it at home before coming to school and ensure it does not interfere with your ability to participate in academic activities.
Dress Code Still Applies: All school dress code rules, apart from those specifically addressed above for Halloween, still apply.
We hope that these guidelines help to ensure that everyone can enjoy the festive spirit of Halloween while also maintaining a safe and focused academic environment. We look forward to seeing your creative costumes in the afternoon!
Warm wishes,
Charlie Lake Staff
